Graduation Season Begins at Sojo

Lee Sweeney

- Aaron Wright
Several members of the Sojourners family attended the Vinton County High School Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 13th in the high school gymnasium. And for a very happy reason! Two of our Youthbuild participants received their diplomas during the exercises. Aaron Wright and Everett Lee Sweeney were handed their diplomas by school board member Jeff Thacker.
This is just the beginning of the Sojourners graduation excitement. On Saturday, May 21, over 25 people are traveling to Columbus where six Youthbuild students will receive their high school diplomas through the Virtual Community School (VCS). Mindy Kerr and Steven Vanover finished their high school requirements months ago, but will be taking part in the ceremony. Tiffany Chesser, Trevor Lee, Kera Spriggs, and Sarah Wright have all just recently finished their high school classes in time to take part. This is the largest group of distance learning students Sojourners has had the opportunity to help graduate.
On June 24, the Sojourners Celebration of Success will take place at the Calvary Assembly of God, 63849 US Highway 50, McArthur, Ohio. This annual event is an opportunity to recognize all of our graduates from community high schools, VCS, and those who have completed their GEDs over the school year. So grab your camera and join us as we celebrate our participants’ achievements.
