TLPThe Transitional Living Program was founded on the belief that all young people can acquire the knowledge and skills to be independent as well as contribute meaningfully toward the development of themselves, their families, and their communities.  The program supports a wide variety of independent living services to homeless and runaway youth of Southeastern Ohio.  The program provides shelter; educational opportunities; and personal, career and social development for young men and women ages 18-21.  Housing services are provided at varying levels, including community-based apartments in the region.  Residents participate in intensive life skills classes and are expected to be enrolled in another program of Sojourners or be working at least  20 hours a week.

Education is a key component of the transitional living  program.  Staff work closely with other Sojourners programs to provide participants opportunities to receive their GEDs, High School diplomas and/or further their education. The Transitional Living Program also works with several regional institutions of higher learning to further enhance these opportunities.
